We do not guarantee website links or the privacy policies of authorised third parties.

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our real estate services to you, providing information to our clients, and for marketing and communication purposes. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.

You may unsubscribe from our marketing or mailing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.

When we collect Personal Information, we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

However, most Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be retained by us for a minimum period of seven (7) years, or longer where required by law.

Muscat Property Co. Aust Pty Ltd will not charge any fee for an access request, but may charge a reasonable administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.

Privacy Management Framework

Purpose
To ensure Muscat Property Co. Aust Pty Ltd maintains a proactive and effective privacy management framework that demonstrates compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), in accordance with APP 1.2A of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Compliance Step

The business will take reasonable steps to implement, maintain, and regularly review internal practices, procedures, and systems that ensure compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles by:

1.Governance & Responsibility

    • Appointing the Licensee-in-Charge or a delegated senior staff member as the Privacy Officer, responsible for privacy compliance, oversight, and decision-making.

    • Ensuring privacy compliance is embedded within operational management, staff onboarding, and ongoing business practices.

2. Documented Policies & Procedures

    • Maintaining a current and publicly available Privacy Policy that clearly explains how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, stored, and managed.

    • Maintaining internal privacy procedures covering:

      • Collection and handling of personal and sensitive information

      • Data security and access controls

      • Use of third-party service providers (e.g. CRM systems, portals, marketing platforms)

      • Responding to privacy complaints and data breaches

3. Staff Awareness & Training

    • Ensuring all staff, contractors, and representatives receive privacy awareness training on commencement and periodically thereafter.

    • Reinforcing obligations relating to confidentiality, appropriate use of client data, and secure handling of personal information in day-to-day real estate activities.

4. Risk Management & Review

    • Regularly assessing privacy risks associated with business operations, including marketing, trust account operations, tenancy management, and digital systems.

    • Reviewing privacy practices when:

      • Business systems or software change

      • New services are introduced

      • Legislative or regulatory requirements are updated

5. Monitoring, Complaints & Continuous Improvement

    • Maintaining a clear internal process for receiving, investigating, and responding to privacy enquiries or complaints in a timely manner.

    • Recording and reviewing any privacy incidents or breaches to identify improvements and prevent recurrence.

    • Periodically reviewing and updating privacy documentation to ensure it remains accurate, compliant, and fit for purpose.
